FEATURED SPEAKER

Ira Yellen, Founder, and President of iNeedHomeCareNow™

In this presentation, Ira will describe in graphic (and entertaining) detail the evolution of his startup company from conception and funding to product release, with all of its ups, downs, twists, and turns.

Community-based healthcare and support service providers operate in an extremely fragmented environment, making it difficult for service providers to communicate with consumers and for consumers to find qualified service providers or to fend for themselves. iNeedHomecareNow™ offers family caregivers an on-demand mobile app/website for access to one-on-one caregiver advisors, links to important self-help resources, and lists of qualified home care agencies to contact for a nominal fee. It is a tool designed to reach the millions of family caregivers who need immediate guidance and support to help a loved one on a daily basis.

Ira has more than 40 years of experience in public relations, marketing, advertising, and design. His agency, First Experience Communications, has worked with clients in the health care industry for more than two decades. He has counseled and provided professional services to health care organizations (hospitals, cancer centers, community health centers, and state agencies) on integrated marketing strategies, online marketing, and branding, and he has advised home care agencies on Internet strategies that help them find new clients and recruit staff. Over the years, Ira has invested in early stage companies, and he has served as mentor and adviser for many startup companies and entrepreneurs. He is on the board of directors of Connecticut Technology Council and is a senior mentor at MassChallenge.
